The safety reversing sensors on your garage door are the two little light-beams near the bottom of the door. If something obstructs the beam while the door is closing, this safety feature senses the obstruction and reverses the door. In order to function properly the sensors must face each other directly across the opening, but sometimes these beams fall out of alignment. If the sensors are not connected and aligned correctly, the garage door opener will malfunction. More times than not, issues with the safety sensors are the result of incorrect wiring or an electrical short in the connection. If you can’t get your garage door closed and you think the safety sensors are the issue, contact one of our highly-trained technicians today. One of our residential garage door repair specialists can inspect the wiring, verify the connections and ensure that your garage door is in proper working order for the safety of you and your family.
